FAQs
Frequently asked questions about Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby!
Liv loves hearing from listeners, but due to the volume of messages she’s not able to answer most mythology-related questions (that’s what the periodic Q&A episodes are for—you can always submit those questions here!). Fortunately many of your questions are similar, and thus: answers are here! If you still choose to send your question via email or DM, know that Liv reads and appreciates these but is very busy writing you books and preparing new and exciting podcast episodes and may not be able to respond individually (frankly, she also has technological anxiety and has trouble with managing all the requests!).

Maybe! Probably? There are over 600 episodes of the show now… It’s a lot to keep track of!
Thankfully you can find the answer (and episodes!) via everyone’s good friend: Google. Simply google “Myths Baby” and “[story/character/myths of your choosing]” and any episode featuring those characters in the title or description should be revealed to you! You can also check out Liv’s curated and themed Spotify playlists!
We’re working on adding episodes to the website, you can search specific keywords here.
-
Great! Liv releases Q&A episodes four times a year and she would love to hear your question!
You can ask it via the form on this page.

Yes! 2025 tours are currently full, please keep an eye on the News & Events page for 2026 group tour information (and subscribe to our newsletter, Iris’ Rainbow, to make sure you don’t miss tour announcements).

All the sources Liv refers to are always included in the episode’s description! So, if you’re curious about a certain source or information in an episode you can refer to the sources listed in the description of that episode (that’s available wherever you listen). Liv’s biggest “go to” is Theoi, a magical place that lays out characters and the extant sources that mention them (we love Theoi).
-
While Liv would love you recommend individual books to everyone (seriously, the woman loves books, her apartment is basically a library), this isn’t feasible. Liv’s Assistant Producer Michaela has put together this amazing list of source recommendations, and this list of fictional retellings!
-
Typically this question refers to Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, so we’ll start there. Liv highly recommends Emily Wilson’s translation of the Odyssey. Wilson’s Iliad is out now and while Liv hasn’t read it yet, she’s more than prepared to recommend it! Beyond that you can find source and translation recommendations here!
-
Probably, yes! The book is available worldwide, however everything is determined/controlled by the publisher and Liv has absolutely no control over any of it (the books were commissioned… they control it all). The easiest option is to ask your local bookshop if they can order it in for you, purchase directly from our online store, or review the retailers list on our books page.

Lore olympus
Of course! Liv really enjoys Lore Olympus and has spoken about the show on a Q&A episode and even had Rachel Smythe, the artist and author, on the podcast for a special conversation episode.
Assassin’s creed odyssey
Oh, my yes. Liv loves that game, possibly too much (it’s possible she’s working through Nightmare Mode right now). There’s a 2021 Q&A episode devoted to mostly answering questions about the history and mythology of the game. Additionally, Liv spoke with Dr. Kira Jones all about the depth of AC Odyssey.
Hades (Supergiant)
Liv has heard of Hades, but hasn’t had a chance to play it yet. Related: Zagreus is a mythological character who is specific to the enigma that is the Orphic tradition. The Orphic Tradition is a messy b*tch, you can listen to the episodes on it here.
Hadestown
Yes! Liv hasn’t listened to the musical all the way through yet, but it’s definitely on the list.
Epic: the Musical
Yes! Liv hasn’t listened to it yet (sorry, she’s just not a musical gal!).

This question is asked a lot, and with good reason. The Percy Jackson books introduced a whole generation to Greek mythology, and that’s awesome. Liv hasn’t read the books and probably won’t, they just didn’t come at the right age for her to get hooked in the way so many others did. If she’s being honest she both doesn’t want to and doesn’t have the time (and that’s okay!). She is, however, very excited about the new TV show, because anything dedicated to Greek myth is a good thing!
