Liv Here: Who Wants to Go On An Odyssey With Me?!
Hello my dear and beloved listeners… it’s me, Liv.
I’m going to be honest with you: I’ve been trying to get this newsletter out for a ENTIRE MONTH but then, suddenly, I’ve blinked and it’s October! I’ve been consumed by Homer’s Odyssey for the past few months. It’s been a goddamn delight and… so overwhelming that everything else has kind of fallen by the wayside (sigh).
Today, though, I knew that if I didn’t just send out SOMETHING I never would. So, here I am! *waves*
There’s one thing I’ve been working on that can’t wait until I find a way to get my shit together… My own 2026 Odyssey! So, stay tuned for more news on the new website, new merch being handled by yours truly, and so much more. Until then?…
LET’S GO TO GREECE!
Me, amongst the olive trees of the Temple of Dionysus (Naxos)… It can be windy, but Naxos is a Dionysian paradise!
Meet Me in Greece! May 14-25, 2026
This time we’re working with a company aptly called Thalassa Journeys to hop around the Aegean Sea… with much more direction than my main man Odysseus (Thalassa was a goddess of the sea)!
Just call us Ariadne’s retinue because we’re following in the (reverse) footsteps of the Minoan princess as she escaped the horrors of Theseus.

A Quick Note: The cost of this trip ($6,690 USD, based on double occupancy) is much higher than what we’ve done before (and hope/intend to do again!) but it’s all for good reason. Travelling to the Greek islands is quite a bit more expensive than staying on the mainland, and Santorini especially is a VERY expensive place to visit (unfortunately). I totally understand if this trip is cost prohibitive for many listeners, but those of you who can afford it and have considered a trip to the Greek islands, this is an amazing way to do it. We’ll be travelling in style to some of the most historically rich islands (and generally BEAUTIFUL!). This is a big trip, but it’s worth it!
We start in Athens…
…for a tour of the Parthenon, museum, the temple of Poseidon at Sounion, and more!
The Caryatid Porch of the Erechtheion, Acropolis (Athens)
Then it’s on to my FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WORLD…
Naxos! We’re headed to Dionysus’ sacred island, where Ariadne was rescued from a Thesean fate. From the unfinished ruins of the Temple of Apollo to the life changing beaches and unbelievably good potatoes and cheese, Naxos has everything (including my cat Anchovy’s biological parents who live on a mountainside in Mirki Viglia!).
From Naxos we tour the site of DELOS! which is untouched by modernity in the most beautiful of ways…
Next we take a ferry south to Santorini…
… for the BRONZE AGE CITY AKROTIRI, wall paintings that will have you think you stumbled back in time to 1600 BCE, and all the tourist photo ops you could ask for!
And finally on to Ariadne’s Minoan origins… CRETE!
In Crete we visit the ancient palace of Knossos, the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion (amazing) along with two other towns/sites on the island which even I haven’t yet visited!
Look it’s me at the Palace of Knossos! (Photo cred to Genn McMenemy)
All to say… this tour is going to be steeped in mythology, history, and archaeology, and I CANNOT WAIT to have some of you join me in these places I love so much.
And finally, to be PERFECTLY FRANK (because I don’t know any other way to be!)… This is an amazing opportunity but one that I recognize is seriously expensive and coming at a time when THE WORLD IS ON FIRE. I signed up to work with Thalassa on this tour well over a year ago and now need to follow through. I hope some of you can join, it’s going to be incredible!
