Everything is terrible… LET’S GO TO GREECE! Last year we introduced a new Greek island-hopping group tour through Thalassa Journeys buuuut it was a little too pricey. SO! I worked with Thalassa Journeys to adjust the itinerary a bit, shift the trip to October, and as a result were able to bring the prices down by $1000!

A Quick Note: The new cost of this trip is still higher than what we’ve done before (and will run again in 2027!) but it’s all for good reason. Travelling to the Greek islands is quite a bit more expensive than staying on the mainland, but if you can afford it… it’s WORTH IT. Plus, this trip includes most meals, transportation, and entries to all the sites! I totally understand if this trip is stillcost prohibitive for many listeners, but those of you who can afford it and have considered a trip to the Greek islands, this is an amazing way to do it. We’ll be travelling in style to some of the most historically rich islands (and generally BEAUTIFUL!). This is a big trip, but it’s worth it!

So, where are we going this time?!
We start in Crete, amongst the most ancient of Greek peoples… the Minoans! We’ll tour the city of Heraklion, its life-changing archaeological museum (bull jumpers! snake goddesses! weird little guys!), and the archaeological site of the Palace of Knossos!

We’ll visit the beautiful and bizarre palace of Knossos! (I’ve only been the once and am DYING to see it again!!)
We’ll dance among the Snake Priestesses… and visit the Heraklion Museum FILLED with Minoan everything!
Then it’s on to my FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WORLD… NAXOS!
We’ll take the fast ferry north, escaping Theseus’ bulls—t, landing on Dionysus’ sacred island… Just where Ariadne was rescued from a very Thesean fate!
From the unfinished ruins of the Temple of Apollo to the life changing beaches and unbelievably good potatoes and cheese, Naxos has everything (including my cat Anchovy’s biological parents who live on a mountainside in Mikri Viglia!).

Then, finally, we take another fast ferry to our final stop in Athens…
In Athens we’ll see the Acropolis, it’s STUNNING Museum (SEND THEM BACK, BRITAIN!!), and tour all the most ancient ruins of the city of our most beloved tragedians. Euripides, my love!

The Caryatid Porch of the Erechtheion, Acropolis (Athens)
The first listener group trip (2024) visiting the original Carytids (save the Missing Sister) in the Acropolis Museum!
This tour is going to be steeped in mythology, history, and archaeology, and I CANNOT WAIT to have some of you join me in these places I love so much.
And finally, to be PERFECTLY FRANK (because I don’t know any other way to be!)… This is an amazing opportunity but one that I recognize is seriously expensive and coming at a time when THE WORLD IS ON FIRE. I signed up to work with Thalassa on this tour well over a year ago and we’ve done what we can to make it more feasible. I hope some of you can join, it’s going to be incredible! (But we’re also working on a 2027 tour with the original travel company so less expensive, aka sticking to the mainland, trips coming soon!)
